• To show your availability and activities to friends in your Circles
• To send notifications about activities, friend requests, and Circle updates
• To communicate with you about the Service, including updates and security alerts

3. Location Privacy

Your location is central to up4's functionality. Here's how we protect it:

• Circle Control: You choose exactly who sees your location through Circles. Only members of Circles you broadcast to can see where you are.
• On-Demand Sharing: Location is only shared when you actively broadcast availability. You are never passively tracked.
• No Background Tracking: We do not track your location when you're not actively using the app, unless you explicitly enable live activity features.
• No Third-Party Selling: We never sell your location data to advertisers, data brokers, or any third parties.
• Data Minimization: We collect only the location precision necessary for the feature you're using.

4. Information Sharing

We share your information only in these limited circumstances:

• With your Circles: Friends in your Circles see your availability, activities, and location as you choose to share
• Service Providers: We work with trusted providers for hosting, analytics, and communication (e.g., Supabase for data, Vercel for web hosting)
• Legal Requirements: When required by law, subpoena, or legal process
• Safety: When we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the safety of our users or the public

5. Data Retention

We retain your data while your account is active. Specific retention periods:

• Location history: Deleted after 30 days
• Activity history: Retained while your account is active
• Account data: Permanently removed within 30 days of account deletion
• Waitlist data: Retained until the waitlist is no longer needed, then deleted

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access: Request a copy of your personal data
• Correction: Update or correct inaccurate information
• Deletion: Delete your account and all associated data
• Portability: Export your data in a standard format
• Opt-out: Unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time

up4 is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 18, we will promptly delete that information.
